Now you can maintain your cutting tools using the same level of craftsmanship and beauty, with our French-made Olivewood handled Honing Steel. Often called a ''Honing Rod'', its purpose is to refine the fine edge of a knife blade between uses. While maintaining the angle of the cutting edge, draw the blade's edge from the handle to tip down along the steel in a smooth motion several times, alternating sides of the blade. Regular honing can make a big difference between sharpenings and help your tools give you the best results. As with all of our tools from this maker, the steel is of exceptionally high quality, made to last generations, and the grain of the olivewood handle is absolutely beautiful. Dimensions: Steel 8'' L, with a 5'' L handle.
